EDUCATOR

The role of a music educator extends well beyond the podium and requires a strong grasp of musical knowledge, pedagogy, and administrative competency. Using these skill sets, I strive to support the teams I collaborate with to create a cohesive front that best supports all students.

CONDUCTOR

The highlight of my day is to support the student musicians I work with, including those from the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra, several schools across the DFW Metroplex, and my students in Crowley ISD. I also frequently seek to improve my podium abilities at workshops, including at Texas Tech, the University of North Texas, and the Texas Bandmasters Association summer workshop.

MUSICIAN

I constantly work up my musical prowess through the study of music arrangement, drill design, digital audio, and content production. I have collaborated with programs at the secondary and collegiate levels, assisting from saxophone instruction, to rehearsal support and team-teaching.

Professional Focus
  • Band Education – wind band, marching arts, chamber music, instrument pedagogy

  • Outreach & Leadership – organizational leadership, content creation, music advocacy
Growth

There’s no such thing as criticism. It’s information.

Eddie Green, On Teaching Band: Notes from Eddie Green

There is always space for us to grow. All successes and failures are a learning opportunity! My strongest growth is achieved by keeping an open mind, learning from those around me, and molding my strengths to the needs of my students and colleagues.

Philosophy

The most important goal of a music educator is to collaboratively prepare the next generation of young adults through the pursuit of musical excellence.

To achieve this goal, a music educator must be able to shape their strengths to maximize their effectiveness in the programs they serve, adapt to the needs of their students, and support their colleagues in a team-supportive environment.
